Led by expert local guides and trackers, your chimpanzee tracking adventure begins early in the morning. After a short briefing, you’ll venture into the dense rainforest in search of one of the habituated chimp communities. The experience of hearing their calls echo through the trees, then seeing them swing overhead or forage just meters away, is simply magical. You’ll spend about an hour observing their behaviors, from grooming and feeding to playing and even “talking.”

While chimpanzees are the main attraction, Kibale Forest is also home to 13 primate species, including red colobus monkeys, L’Hoest’s monkeys, and grey-cheeked mangabeys.
